Did you hear about the Higher Zodiac?

If you are not an Astrology enthusiast most likely you did not. You, probably, remotely heard of the Ophiuchus constellation. Which in connection with Astrology was often referred to as “the 13th sign”. In fact, astrologically speaking, the Ophiuchus is one of the 12 signs of the so-called Higher Zodiac.

The Higher Zodiac is used by several astrological schools, however, it is not a common approach. Its signs are located approximately at 15° space in between “standard” Zodiac signs, about 7,5° from each side.

The first sign is Clock located at the end of Pisces and the beginning of Aries. It is represented by the Cepheus constellation.

The second sign between Aquarius and Pisces is called Winged Horse to honour its constellation Pegasus.

The third sign – Sphinx, lies between Aquarius and Capricorn. Defined by the Cygnus Constellation.

Tree, on the border of Capricorn and Sagittarius, is the fourth sign, with the Cassiopeia constellation.

And now Ophiuchus, the fifth sign of the Higher Zodiac. Between Sagittarius and Scorpio with the constellation of its name.

Raven is situated between Scorpio and Libra. The Corvus constellation supports the sixth sign.

The seventh sign – Shepherd on the brim of Libra and Virgo, with the Bootes constellation.

The eighth sign is mirrored by the Hercules constellation – Knight, between Virgo and Leo.

Chariot – the ninth sign with the Ursa Major constellation. Its location is on the verge of Leo and Cancer.

Sign number ten – Ship, between Cancer and Gemini with the Argo constellation.

The eleventh sign is Hunter, separates Gemini and Taurus and is connected with the Orion constellation.

The last sign is Whale represented by the Cetus constellation on the edge of Taurus and Aries.

Twelve signs of the Higher Zodiac symbolically push the borders of our standard Zodiac circle. They metaphorically expand the nature of traditional signs and bring a new dimension to their characteristics. The Higher Zodiac has a more spiritual, even karmic nature. Each sign, of course, has its own characteristics, just like in the classic Zodiac. But unlike standard signs, the Higher Zodiac sign shows itself in individual horoscopes only under certain conditions.

People with a strongly presented Higher Zodiac sign in their natal chart will have characteristics of that sign in their personality. They will find it difficult to completely relate to their standard Zodiacal description. They are mysterious, charismatic and talented but uneasy and controversial.

Even though the Higher Zodiac is not the most common feature of modern Astrology it is interesting to explore.
